While taking the garbage out the other day, I looked down and found this pile of s-word awaiting my right boot.
And I found it odd for a few reasons.
First, because I am not accustomed to seeing a pile like that in my backyard. Like, since the two years that I have lived here, I don’t think I have ever found poop like this in my yard. Secondly, my first impression was that this was deer scat. The gate that normally secures the yard was open and so it was possible that a deer had snuck back there, dropped a load, and meandered back on out, but the trouble with that theory is that I have not seen a deer in our neighborhood ever. Lastly, I was kind of amazed with the quantity. If it wasn’t a deer, then what was carrying this amount of crap in one bladder. Everything else in the local environment was much smaller in size.
The remaining suspects were the alley rats, and the wintering squirrels or raccoons. Right?
What else would you put on the list?
Rabbits. Seen any of those around?
